Indian Oil Corporation Limited, is an Indian state-owned oil and gas corporation with its headquarters in New Delhi, India. When ranking is done on the revenue basis, it is the largest public corporation of India. Its subsidiaries are located at a number of places in India at Bihar, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, West Bengal, and Orissa. Indian Oil Corporation under its ownership and operation, it has 10 of India’s 22 refineries with a combined refining capacity of 65.7 million tonnes per year.

Indian Oil Corporation monitors a number of departments such as Refining, Marketing, Pipelines, R&D and Training. Indian Oil – CREDA Biofuels Ltd. is a joint venture with Chhattisgarh government. This unit’s main function is the production and marketing of Bio-fuels. The CREDA unit has gained experience in expelling and marketing sector of crude Jatropha oil and bio-mass to domestic market. The company has the strategic planning to enter and excel in the production field of multiple feedstock based non-edible crude oil.
